Just so you know. .. we aren't ignoring you. The weather is very bad in many parts of the country right now and is expected to get worse over the next week. Many people are making preparations for record low temperatures. So hang in there... When the weather breaks we will get you some pics

Ice storm coming to Kentucky. 7 degrees Sunday nite
oh boy I hope it gets better.....

So according to Tim True Autosexing Rhodbars lack Columbian Restrictor(Co, the gene that turns RIR into all Red bird instead of Black Breasted Red) and if they have Co then they are not True Autosexing...

I was advising a fellow on how to go about creating autosexing delawares..

here is the link of the thread and his coments...

Also wild type, barred, columbian restricted chick down phenotype will not work as autosexing down. Do not know where you are going with the question.

You proposed a hybrid and that will not work as an autosexing breed. Like I said before hybridizing the E locus ( wheaten/ ?) will produce striped down that is different than wheaten down (white /cream). If the hybrid chicks have the correct number of barring genes and no genes for columbian restriction ( Db,Co,?) then the chicken down can be sexed. The rest of the chicks in a hybrid cross will not have the same genotye. 1 in 4 will have wheaten down- and can not be sexed; the homozygous wild type chicks can be sexed.

I disagree with you; I do not believe an individual can produce a delaware adult phenotype that produces an autosexing down. Take it as that. Let the person decide if they believe you or me.

Rhodebars that are wheaten, barred and columbian restricted will not produce autosexing down. Rhodebar that are wild type, barred and columbian will not produce down that is autosexing. Some of the chicks can be sexed but some can not. Autosexing is 100%. I do not believe the autosexing rhodebar carries the columbian gene.

I had heard debates about the Co gene from a few others. I'm not sure anyone had proven it one way or another. Would love some opinions on this. I think we are in unchartered waters here.

Weather. .. Weird here in TN... Here in the east part of the state I spent a few hours today on the tractor putting out hay while wearing a tshirt and shorts. :D Our daughter who is at the other end of the state has college classes canceled tomorrow due to freezing rain and ice.

There is no if and buts on wheather Rhodebars have Co.. they do, if they didnt they would be Barred Black Breasted Reds intead

Here's some pics of my Rhodebar. He was easily 100% autosexing at hatch and is somewhere on here in earlier posts. Hatched Christmas of last year.
