So has anyone really thought down the road about the best way to practically breed these improved Rhodebars without being yourself into a corner.
It's a little mind boggling to think about but that part of the long term breeding plan is a little to much of a mystery right now and I need some brainstorms as to how to most efficiently and cost effectively handle that.
four more pens? You could always use tents... No building requiredYes but... who is going to convince my husband to build me 4 more breeding pens? ;p
the odd pullet seems to lack Columbian, and without it she is going to be just a Salmon breasted hen, just like whelsummers..I purchased five Rhodebar pullets at ~2.5 weeks of age. They are now ~6 weeks. One of the pullets has a odd patterning on her feathers. Crappy cell phone photos, I know...she jumped right off that table...
These are two of the "normal" patterned pullets:
Is it possible the oddly marked pullet is not a Rhodebar, or does this pattern show up?
He also has CCL and Jaerhon...we've determined that one of the five is a CCL, so I probably did not get many Rhodebars. Here's a photo of the other five (cockerel a blur to the left, CCL just above him on left, 2 dark red RB in middle?? Nice red RB on right):the odd pullet seems to lack Columbian, and without it she is going to be just a Salmon breasted hen, just like whelsummers..
