The Rhodebar thread!

while I agree that starting from scratch is about the best way to go considering the GFF bad stock, this cross Sexlinked Male x HRIR this cross would lack the much need it e+/ allele.. Quickest way would be Barred Rock x Welsummer(would produce nice dark eggs) F1 Male crosse to HRIR, 50% of the hatch would be e+/eWh and 50% of them will be Barred, so hatching about 30 to 40 eggs would be need it

I like his barring patter, he is lacking any black on breast which is good, he seem to be lacking on size but he could be a late bloomer so I would advise to show him when he about 16 month old, so far he looks better than the pics Green Fire Farms have on their website

Thanks! The information I got is the father of him was Greenfire and the mother was from Jonathan Burton line out of N.C. He is the offspring of them.I got him from a guy in Montana. He said he was changing roosters and wanted a different strain to help keep diversity.

I do not know to be honest. I did a google of his name and found out,He is on here as burtonjon. I sent him a pm asking about his line he has or had.

I think you will find they are from GFF. Likely early birds received from GFF. Who needs diversity in the Rhodebars, some lay green eggs, some are laced, some are more wheaten, sounds too diverse to me.

Sarcasm intended.

Just from doing some searches on RBA Mr Burton sells his Rhodebars as from being from GFF line. Very nice birds none the less and he knows how to breed.

All his breeds are beautiful eye candy.
