I'm about 3 weeks away as I just separated out my breeding pens a few days ago. I think there are some listed on rare breed auctions right now.

the male is too dark, is he doulbe barred or single barred?

I am not certain Nic, the picture does not bring out his real color. The very middle of his back and the front of his head is rather dark but the back of his head and majority of his body is probably 4-5 shades lighter than the picture looks. I think this picture shows it a little better.

All my birds are direct from greenfire. All lay a Brown egg. I have about 10 grow outs from another breeder of which I will keep a quad as 3 females have the coloring I'm looking for and will choose the best roo of 4 that I have.

it could be the lighting.. or he could be heterozygous for the barring gene..
