The Rhodebar thread!

Pics
I candled again today, at day 16 and both Rhodebar eggs are alive and kicking! Starting to get my hopes up that they'll both hatch.

Hoping for a pair is probably a stretch, so I'm just hoping for two chicks.

The both hatched! One of each! I'm totally shocked! I tried to look in the shells to see if I could see the meat-spot, but by the time I got to the egg I couldn't tell which was which.

I'm concerned though, the female (who was in the normal egg) seems to be having problems moving one of her legs. She wobbles around okay, I'm just not sure she can control her left leg.

I ended up culling the little female chick last night. Her hock joint wasn't attached correctly, her leg was just limp and she couldn't walk and it was obvious she wasn't going to get better. Has anyone else had this problem? One other person on BYC mentioned she's seen it twice in rhodebars so far.
