Not yet. Still waiting for them to start laying, but could be anytime as we have gotten one egg from their pen which is shared with several grow outs.

This is my Rhodebar Roo last yearhe has filled out nicely but this cold year has not been good to his comb, still need to get pictures of the RIR. Most of my pictures lately are the wybar project.

So, question. I have a HRIR cockeral right now. Waiting for him to get to business. I have a couple of Rhodebar girls..I have three Rhodebars, two from one breeder, one from another. I see a difference in the one other pullet I saved back. Darker in the red coloring, and looking more barred than laced. So if I use My HRIR, to her, I should get some nice Rhodebars?

I think that would give you sex-linked chicks, barred males, and then you would cross those to your Rhodebar hens. I think that is how it would be using a barred female with a red male. What line HRIR do you have?

You will have a little more work than if you had a male Rhodebar. The females will not be barred and the males from this cross will be single barred.

A Single barred male from this cross back over Rhodebar hens should give you 25% pure Rhodebar both carrying e+.

Thank you. I may have a male, have been told it is a male, but I am just not sure yet. That would be one male to two hens.
