The Rhodebar thread!

so ive just skimmed here are there but am i getting that the rhodebars wont breed true? I just got some eggs from ebay and was thrown aback when i opended them i got anywhere from brown all the way to a cream color almost white in the eggs that i got is this right or did i just waste my money?

A true Rhodebar will breed true. Sounds like you may or may not have gotten purebred. I say that only because Rhodebar eggs are brown... Not green, cream or white... Ever.
If it were me I wouldn't even hatch the ones that weren't brown, but that's up to you. At the very least hatch them in a separate Chamber of you can.
When they hatch take pics of each of them at a day or 2 old. Several of us on here should be able to tell you if you are on the right track. Then you will need to track those to make sure they feather out correctly.
At that point, if you have some that have passed the test to that point you will simply have to breed them to find out for sure.
Do you happen to have pics of the parents?

Unfortunately there are too many folks now selling Rhodebar eggs and/or birds that don't really know what they have. And too many have been potentially crossed with a few other things.
We will help in any way we can.

Thank you so much for your help i was very interested in the breed and was going to try and get them started this year. I knew something wasnt right when the eggs where so many different colors. I think ill go ahead and hatch them and then get back with you on how they turn out color wise. I can take a pic off the post i got them from ill try to get one on here in a few hours. and ill send you what the eggs look like as well.

Sure! Here ya go. .. they are actually a little darker than the picture makes them look due to the flash.
Also sorry they aren't too clean. .. These are eggs i am getting ready to set.
