The only thing I'll take from this topic is I love the term Noni for a grandmother. That's beautiful.

Everyone is familar with the term Nona for grandmother yet in Noni's Sicilian dialect there are many words that end with the letter "i" instead e or a.
Thank you all for allowing me to share a bit of myself. I realize it is non chicken related and adore that some of you enjoyed hearing about Noni.
Here is a picture of Noni and my mother right after WWII ended and they went back to Sicily to see family. Mom was 13. They are standing in front of Teatro Greco in Taormina. Mt. Etna looms right behind..even though you can't see it from this picture. Beautiful!
