Asher held his steady gaze on Khloe, eyes wide with shock after discovering he indeed wasn't the only shifter around. It took him a long moment to get his head around the fact, but finally replied after she confirmed it by saying 'yes'. "You do realise you're the only other shifter I've met before" He said in his simple, rather blunt way. That was always how he spoke when in shock, which wasn't often.
"Wait, what? Only other, you mean–" Khloe paused in disbelief, as the flicker of hope began to blaze, and her eyes widened as she finished, "–you're a shifter, too..." It was not a question, she already knew the answer, even though it was hard to take in. Khloe had always thought it was just her, Zackary, and their mother, who had tried to brake them of it, as if that were possible. But now, finding, by chance, someone just like her, someone that understood what it was like to hide, she felt a burden, that she had carried her whole life, lift from her shoulders.
