The Silver Laced Wyandotte Thread

This is too funny.! Sorry!
What size did What The Cluck turn out ?
She looks beautiful.
I am new to the group. I will be hatching 7-8 dozen of Blue Lace Red, Silver Lace and Gold Lace that I will be hatching out over the next couple months.
excited to get these guys going. The bloodlines I purchased are all from show lines and they are not mixed they have been bred in separate flocks.
Is there a good reference for breeding them out there ?
Thanks

Welcome. This website will be very helpful.

She looks like a SLW all grown up.
She does look almost identical to Smokey, our hatchery SLW hen. Little smaller though.

No apologies, we laugh every time we call her over!
What the Cluck is a little smaller than our SLW hen, I haven't weighed them all this spring yet, and Cluck hatched last August so she just grew up over winter. She is a good 5x her mommas size and it amazes me that she came out of an egg slightly larger than an olive.

Wish this was a better pic. but its all I have with both of them together. Her and momma.

Few of my large fowl SLW ladies, over here in the UK it is very difficult to get hold of birds with a good type - and is something everyone is working very hard on!

I would say you are doing very well in type and lacing. Nice birds.

Thanks, type has been a real struggle! Really want to get my birds looking more like the chunky american SLW cockerels/hens soon :)

I have a hatchery SLW rooster that got with my silkie hen and I didn't know this until I hatched one of her eggs and got this little one.
this is chanti
this is pj
this is little bit

She has the feet of a silkie the skin color and pretty feather pattern of the SLW. Can't wait to see it as an adult she is 6 wks now.

Sometimes you have to love the Ooops!

I love the chicks that come from SLW roo and blue copper Marans hen. Wouldn't a laced Marans be pretty? Here are some of the chicks. I don't have any yet with adult feathers though.

I think Flora is a cockerel. See below for his baby pictures with his sister, Flossie, who has a whiter base and less copper. Flora may need to become Flo-Rida.
