The Silver Laced Wyandotte Thread

It looks like there's some long pointy saddle feathers starting there, and those waddles are awfully big, too...I'd say it's a fella.

ETA: Could you maybe get a pic of him from the side, full body, with his tail? Probably give you a pretty concrete answer then.

Dotte, that's a cockerel no doubt.

On the egg color in pullets- It's possible the lighter egg is a pullet egg. In my experience it is more the darker egg colors like brown that experience color changes and not the lighter ones, but I wouldn't count it out as a possibility.

Just an update on my girl...she has now laid 10 days in a row!!!

She's definitely earning her keep now. I finally got some pics of her:

And here's the girl I think will start laying soon, Freya:

Look at that comb!! She's gotta be close, right?

Little "Daisy" is now 4 1/2 weeks old and very cuddly. Do you have any idea if this is a pullet or a cockerel? This was the sole chick to hatch from shipped eggs, so I have no point of comparison.

Thanks for any input!

Just set 10 eggs from my girl for the New Year's Day HAL...the father is my wheaten ameraucana cockerel. Mostly just testing out my incubating skills, but it should be fun. I looked it up on the chicken calculator and it said the females will be gold laced. Gold laced olive eggers!!! Babies!!!
