I have already gone back to my knitting and sewing.

Since I have been stuck at home for so many weeks now I would go stir crazy without something to do, so I picked up my needles again and I am really enjoying it.

I had already decided that smoking has to go I don't like getting my creations dirty...lol.

But I am stretching myself and finding new things to add in and keep me occupied.

Great suggestion.

yeah so glad you are quitting...all of you...keep it to the top of your mind set..and we will all prevail against the dreaded cigarette!

If I may offer some advice as a 47 year ex-smoker-- don't be ashamed to use the patches. I would never have made it without them. Quitting is not nearly as hard as you think it will be. STAYING quit is the hard part. You DO have to be ready to quit and be serious about it. Just saying you want to quit won't do it. Tell everyone you know that you're quitting. You feel REAL bad if someone asks and you have to tell them you started back. DO believe me on this--the little voice that you will hear is real. I still talk to him once in a while, when he tells me one cigarette won't hurt anything. My addiction has a voice and still lives in my head, though he's not nearly as loud now. You WILL crave a smoke once in a while, but the craving only lasts a few seconds or at most a minute or two. Keep busy, don't dwell on the craving. Good luck to all of you, really. I'll be praying for you and me. Quit now!! Don't wait like I did. COPD is not pleasant, and there is no cure, and it is all my fault. No one forced a cigarette into my hand. Quit now!! I did and so can you. One day at a time....

I want to quit too! With the exception of my pregnancy in 02, I've been smoking for 18yrs. Just the thought of quitting makes me panicky

However it's bad for my health and in the last few years it's become a very expensive bad habit!
