How many is on the list so far? I'm happy that you guys are so positive about it. Doesn't it help to have friends in the same boat who can suffer with you and encourage you?
The advice given here can help a person overcome any addictions (well except for a Big Mac addition)..

Here is another idea

Make a list of things to do, a few things that would take anywhere from 5 minutes to 20 minutes.
List things you like and dislike, for example:
1. Clean toilet.

2. Paint toenails.
3. Wipe down kitchen cupboards.
4. Vacuum living room.
5. Color a picture (steal the kids coloring in book or buy your own)
6. Bath the dog (or cat

)
7. Change the sheets.

keep the list handy - stick it on the fridge, and when that nagging "gotta have a smoke" thought pops in your head and won't go away, go check your list and pick one to do, or work your way down the list.

Sign me up. I have had this monkey on my back for far too long and it is past time to get it off. I know that we can all do this, we just have to believe that we can.

Good Luck too all of us at becoming and staying smoke free!!!

lol... Hi all,

I am already taking the advice that has been given, and I have got some material today to ensure I have plenty to do after Jan 1st.

I also went to town this afternoon and I did not take my cigarettes, Hmmm 3 hours without even a sniff.

Made my first sale today too... there is a life after slogging for the benefit of others,,, and I can use all of this to build a new life.... independently..

Thanks to all of you, and roll on the New Year.

Jena.
