I'd love to play piano also. Had a left hand injury that left me with less movement and coordination in the fingers. So, I'll never meet that dream.
I'm nervous too. I'm 45, smoking since 15 or so, except for a 2 year period I had quit. So, this is an addiction, a habit, something that has been with me for so many years. Don't worry- the hardest part will be over soon....

Actually, I am working on excercise. I got one of those body balls for Christmas. I had heart trouble a little over a year ago that was corrected with surgery, but I still get worried when my heartrate speeds up. So, the body ball is helping.. after quitting smoking, and getting a little in shape with the ball, I can slowly introduce more aerobic .. Yup, this is the year I get in shape!!!

I started crocheting my daughters' God Mother a baby afghan to keep my hands busy every time a craving comes along. I bet it doesn't take long to finish LOL!

Okay-not to brag but to give you incentive! I quit on my ds b-day 1-13-08 and it's almost 1 year! been smoking for almost 30 years! that's gross!! I will never concider myself a non smoker! I am a quitter! I did chantix-it worked for me! no dreams about murdering my family or anything bizarre! I cheated once and the memory of how hard i vomited will be with me FOREVER! you CAN do this! 30 years!! GROSS! PLEASE TRY!!

Count me in too!!! I really NEED to quit. I am not sure if I am ready mentally but there is no more time to think about it.

I have survived, by some miracle, TWO pulmonary embalisms in the last five years. That's when a blood clot lodges in your lungs AFTER passing through your heart. If they were any larger they would have lodged in my heart and killed me instantly like they do so many others.

I am now on blood thinners for the rest of my life....and still I am smoking.

I have a husband, three daughters and chickens, and they need me.

Please guys help me through this. I am severely addicted. Everything I do triggers a desire to smoke and I am weak. I quite once for five months with the help of medication and every day was torture until I gave up and smoked again.

I have to do this!!!

Thanks for starting this thread. I think it will be a big help!
