LilBizzy,
You write so well. I hope your muse is with you for years to come. When I was younger I worked in nursing homes. The sick old people used to come up to me begging me to quit smoking. They knew what was coming if I didn't quit. At the time I knew they were right, but thought it didn't apply to me. I am a cancer survivor, and know that they were ALWAYS right.

Shoomborp,
A few years ago my next door neighbor died of lung cancer. Terry and I were friends for several years before her death. We were only 4 months apart in age. Just before she died she promised that she would buy 2 houses in heaven so when I joined her we could be neighbors again, and have a whole zoo full of animals between us. I hope she got BIG lots for us. She loved my chickens, She died a few weeks after I got my first 3 chickens. She said they eased the pain watching them.

Steel your resolve, there are battles ahead of you. I know you can beat this.

These wonderfully supporting posts are truly humbling......I want to THANK all of you for helping me to kick the habit that has plagued me for years.....today I am going to kick one more of the butts and go down to 4 a day......

United we are strong....united we can do this...and united was are looking towards a brighter, healthier future.....

Kick the habit whichever way you need to....we just have to kick it in the butt and stand together.....

ALL for one and one for ALL........The Kick the Butt Muskateers!!

Love you guys....my friends...... don't think you will ever realise how very special you all are to me .......

From author Joyce Meyer:

"Breaking any addiction will produce suffering, but it leads to victory.
We can suffer on our way to victory, or we can suffer in a never-ending
cycle of addictions.

If you are going to suffer [anyway], at least let it be for some
worthwhile reason."

Ok, how are the Butt Kickers today?
I'm very tired- have not been sleeping well at all. Other than that, I feel good! How about everyone else?

This Butt Kicker is also tired today (well at the moment at least)...I am doing good actually...today I am down to 4 cigs per day...one less than last week...although was a little cranky over the week-end.......Have been up since 5am...and am going to have an early night....

Keep up the good work xxx

Is this a good way to quit? Does it make the nicotine withdrawal go easier? Sounds like it would be effective anyway, save some crankiness, but EC's entitled. She has to deal with us everyday.

You do realize that 4 is almost none, eh? That's just very, very VERY GOOD!!!!
I was cranky this weekend too, but thats because I have adopted my daughters cat, and it is in heat. She's VERY vocal. And being we've only had her since Christmas day- the dog doesn't know what to think. I also have my daughters birds here, and the dog wants to eat them. My parrots now think they need to be louder than the little birds. So it's been a weekend of dog-running, barking, wing-flapping, cat yowling, birds trying to talk over one another.
I'd go sit outside with the chickens, but the rooster keeps trying to flog me LOL

It works for me Buffs as I am a weaner and not a cold turkeyier...

did cold turkey in the past and it nearly "killed" ME.....each to his own.......what works for one might not work for another....so be it ...says EC
