"No, I just- oh, yeah. You're right," Lila responded.

"Okay. If I tweak the main reactor, and remove the H29 cord, it could do just that!" Mark exclaimed excitedly.
"Ah well," Calder shrugged, "Come on, we might as well do this,"

Alina bit her lip, and scribbled a quick graph on the back of the blueprint. "Yeah, but you know what... a 50% increase in peak potential power output will only increase range by 25%, which isn't much, after all. You might need to increase the pulse length, too, because that way you'll transmit more energy."

She glanced over the blueprint thoughtfully. "Will we need an antenna?"

"Alright," Lila started organizing papers on a desk.

"We might. I have a few in my backpack, can you look and see what I have?" Mark started removing some wires.

Calder shook his head despairingly. "Lila, dearie, it's downstairs..." he said, before bending and whispering loudly "Besides, Alina won't be happy if you knock her papers over, not talking from experience or anything,"

Alina took Mark's backpack and began looking through, "It'll have to be dipole, y'know, because the engine can't cope with much drag."

(back in half an hour or so!)

(Okay, bye!)
"I knew that," Lila said unconvincingly.

"Yeah. I think there's one in there," Mark paused to rummage around in the backpack.

Calder laughed again. "Yeah, right. Anyhow, ladies first," he said, with an exaggerated bow.

Alina turned back to the controls of her creation, allowing Mark to get to the backpack.

(I had time for one more post LOL)

Lila went down the ladder into the room below.

Mark said, "Oh. I thought I had a dipole antenna in here, but I guess not. I was sure there was one in there! Do you have any?"

Calder followed and began stacking boxes ready to carry up. "Goodness knows what she keeps in these," he grunted.

Alina grinned. "I don't keep that sort of thing handy, it's easier to just make them when I want them. There'll be some wire I can use. It just depends what you'd want me to use."

"...copper or steel?" she called over her shoulder, rummaging through boxes attached to a pegboard tucked away in a small alcove. The maker station where she stood had reels of wire and insulation coming out of drawers and boxes in all directions.

"Yeah, you probably would just scoff and say, 'Talk like a human being for once.' " Lila imitated Calder's voice perfectly.

"Copper," Mark replied.
