"We were playing detective," Calder said, unhelpfully. "Death certificates - Alina's mother and sister." he added, softening a little.

"Wait a second!" Alina called, slipping the goggles into a pocket and following her, "What's up?" she inquired, as soon as they were level.

“Nothing it just annoys me to hell that you get all the smarts and everyone’s attention” she replied

Alina had enough control not to show any of it, but the words tore her up inside. "I'm sorry," she apologised, sincerity in her voice. "And this probably doesn't help, but if you need time alone that's no issue."

Then, in a move that surprised even Alina, she reached out and tightly hugged Lottie.

(Oooh I like the idea of keeping it on the DL and having the programmer try to split them, honestly for a second there I thought you were going to say that Alina gets a crush on Matt)
