The start of our Turkey "Palace" house *updated pics*

We worked on the roof a little more tonight. Were getting there and will be done soon!!!

We also spent some time with the babies

Monsterclucker how is your pallet house coming along?
So far I've just got the base done. It's a 8x12x gonna be 8' high Ive been moving slow on it right now. I just moved to this property in April and it was vacant for ayear or two so I've been working on a lot of projects at the moment. I just finished my privacy fence yesterday. Relieved about that. I've got about a month to finish this maybe longer depending on if the girls aren't working my nerves by then Lol.

Your house is going to be huge. What all do you plan to house in there? And those open fields in the background are so nice. That what I wanted when we were looking for our house. But our town doesnt have a whole lot of lots like that. Your chicks and poults are cute too sooooo tiny. I have 26 cornish cross coming tomorrow in the mail. And I never got to see my BBWs so tiny I bought them when they were between 4-5 weeks old. (only 2 of these are mine)

and here they are 6 weeks later at 10-11weeks old

they grow fast

:D. Yea I wanted a huge house this time. This is coop #2. Coop #1 is only a 4x8x4 And here's their run. It's about a 15x30. Decent size. But its not gonna be enough. Altogether, I plan on having around 30 layers. I figure I can house at least 20-25 birds in the new coop. And Coop #1 will still be in use too. I'm hoping that it will be enough room for the birds. But so far its just gonna be for the 10 Barred Rock chicks. It's probably gonna feel Luke a mansion to them lol. Imggonna try and get the first set of walls done today or tomorrow. It's gonna be like 86 up here where I am in NorCal. These kinds of days you HAVE to take advantage of. I've got some pictures of some of the sunsets out here uploading now ill share wirh u . Beautiful!

Our first coop is also roughly 4x8x4 with external nest boxes on both ends(its a great house but no room to add more chickens to it) it also has an attached 12x12covered run. It was our first coop and our first building experience so we bought plans online and built it all in new materials. I love it, but never again will we spend so much money on an animal house when we can be creative and repurpose old wood and windows and doors and such. Next year we may build a goat house and add a few goats to our animal chaos but for now I will enjoy all the poultry and see where the next year takes us.

I would love to see some sunset pics

Heres some of the sunset pictures I took a few weeks back. I like this one the most I honestly love living out here. I was born in Bradenton Florida. And I moved to Columbus Ohio to got to school. Being out here is really living a dream for me. When I was a kid that's all I wanted was to move out to the country with some land and animals and just enjoy a different life. This is a rental property. It's 5 acres of fenced off pastures pretty much. I have a black sheep named Cesar (go figure) my two dogs Cajun (American bull dog x Pit Bull) and Zulu ( AKC Doberman) my nephew Dylan (9yo) is living with me for the year from Bradenton Florida and he loves it! Lol he's the main reason we got the chickens and he's growing us corn watermelons and all kinds of veggies. Im seriously thinking about buying a bigger property at the end of the year somewhere out here. Just a little higher in elevation, cuz it gets hot out here!
