that's swell.....i have a chicken named Nugget and i wrote stories about her too

Chapter 10

"Well,"food boy said,"it's time for you guys to move into the big chicken coop!"

Although he could not her it, I was cheering inside!

We all had wing feathers and tail feathers and we were developing combs.

I started to court Brickette and she just giggled.

We were all going through chicken puberty.

The roosters courted and crowed while the pullets sat and sang.

Then the unthinkable happens, I make a full on big boy crow!

Everyone stopped what they were doing and stared to giggle.

Then laugh.

Then... Silence

Food boy picks me up and hugs me.

Then a storm hits and I wittness something that will make you shudder...

This story takes place between March and November. This was the most rain California has seen in over 50 years. So rain is included a lot.

SQUAKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A hawk zoomed by with no warning.

"What the baby fluff is that doing in a storm?!" Brickette screached.

He seems to be lost, i thought.

But he wasnt.

He noticed us and flew staight towrds the coop.

SLAM!!!!!

THe hawk took a nose dive right into the screen!

"SHure is a good thing that ol' hawk is dumb!" SAid Stanley.

No Duhhh......

He kept slaming into the sreen and was getting frusterated.

WE sat and laughed at him.

THat only made him angrier.

Soon food boy came out with a shovel and wacked the hawk.

WE were fed and fell asleep to the pitter-patter of the rain.

Then the goose was wide awake honking at every flash of lightning.

THe feild started to flood.

then the creek over flowed and was rushing incredibly fast.

But no worrys came to this flock.

Untill water sloshed at the door...
