The Sullivan Six

It's always good to see what your adorable flock is doing!

Isn't it a relief when molting ends? One of my Easter Eggers got a late start and although I'm sure she will be fine, she needs to grow feathers fast because cold weather is on its way.

Hope the girls like the nipple waterer. It would be a shame for Artemis to get her lovely face wet.

Yeah, she looks a little deranged with a wet face. Like, girl,  what have you been doing?! You do not need to dunk your whole head to get a drink!

They're all looking great!
Well, not all of them

Paprika is being hit pretty hard by her molt right now. Ratty tail, shriveled comb, and I suspect she's the one leaving big watery droppings off the roost overnight. The droppings have me considering doing a prophylactic deworming. At least she still seems to be eating and acting normally.

The Lady Amalthea has double bumblefoot 😱 We did an Epsom salt soak which softened up the scabs enough to peel them off. But it was mostly just the scab. I got a little stringy pus out of the left foot, but nothing much out of the right foot. So I slathered them in prid and wrapped them up. We'll see what we can work loose tomorrow I guess.

Amalthea was so good for her foot soak tonight! And we had some progress on her feet. The left foot is still not giving up much. But I managed to dig a significant kernel of infection out of her right foot! It was very satisfying. And then it bled a lot.

The Lady Amalthea enjoyed her nice warm foot bath tonight 😁

Her left foot is looking much better, I think we're just waiting for the scab to fall off once the hole finishes healing. The right foot also looks much better but it's gonna take a little while longer to finish healing.
