I really like the look of these birds. I have been slowly trying to learn a bit more about them, a couple other threads asked about colours and it seems there is in the USA 2 (black and blue) other colours found pictures of actual birds, but I also found art from indicating they may have have come in more colours at one time. The explantation on a Sultan site is it is assumed Sultans where crossed with Polish at some previous time, maybe but maybe not as any other colour could have easily been bred out, because of show preference or simply the other colours where not imported. Anyhow it appears there are a few folks trying to preserve the other 2 colours, for biodiversity in the genetics I am hoping more folks do as well. Supposably at one time this bird was a meat bird too (breast meat is suppose to be very good.)
I wonder why such an extremely low egg laying rate, and how closely related they all are? Any specific genetic issues with this breed?
