I have heard there are black ones out there somewhere, but I'm not sure if they are in the US. The only ones I have seen here are white. Fwiw.

i hear ya are u allowed to keep roosters or just have to many cause im in the same boat to
Supposedly, we're not 'supposed' to have any chickens at all, but the way zoning read, it was a no on "barnyard animals." Considering chickens are actually birds

and are my pets, well, we've got 'em.

The thing I have to take care with is the noise ordinance. This morning we had a nice duet going on for a few minutes. Blossom crows quite nicely now, but Snowball hasn't crowed for a few weeks, so he's still at the rusty-barn-door stage. We also have a silkie cockerel in the mix, too, but so far he's being quiet. I really don't want a full symphony, but we LOVE them and can't bear to part with them! I'm seriously hoping to move before it becomes critical. LOL.

"Sultans are fancy ornamental chickens and one of the more unique breeds of poultry. They originated from southeast Europe and became known in Turkey as Seral-Taook ("fowl of the sultan"). Sultans were, most likely because of their appearance, the preferred breed of Turkish rulers. Sultans were imported to England from Istanbul in 1854. The bantam form was bred in the U.S. from Standard sized Sultans. The American Poultry Association recognizes white Sultans in the Miscellaneous class. Currently there are no other known colors or patterns." (my emphasis)

My standard sultan hen lays one medium egg a day for me! And they have great dispositions awesome especially for kids! Extremely tame and wonderful birds, I highly recomend them for fist time chicken owners!!!
