I went out to the coop and played the video for the "girls". They came a runnin', then I showed them the whole video. I wish I had a second camera to record their reaction. One of my Andalusions pecked the screen! When my hubby gets home, I'll borrow his iphone and do this again! How Fun!!!!

Oh wow, Peaches is awesome! Chickens are always surprising me with how curious and intelligent they can be! They really aren't as dumb as I was made to believe! Though they can be pretty silly! LOL

nope, she has never gone broody Harper. My second Cochin Princess has though about a year ago. I kinda wish Peaches would, I have a TON of people wanting her chicks. She hasnt been laying for me either. hmmmmm.....

When I first gained an interest in chickens there were so many breeds I wanted. More than 3years later I finally have sultan eggs almost after giving up hope. The only place that had Sultans were the big mail order hatcheries and there are min orders and if you wanted guaranteed pullets it's even more money. Financially not feasible for me and i was told they are not good quality. I finally decided on raising 4 main breeds English Orpingtons, LF Cochins, bantam Cochins, Silkies. While talking to my silkies dealer-supplier for eggs I found out she had sultans. Along with silkie eggs she gave me sultan eggs problem is none of the eggs are marked and all mixed together can anyone tell me how to tell the eggs apart? thanks and any special care advice for sultans?

Some silkies lay a cream colored egg while sultans lay a pearly white egg but they are usually the same size.

Some of my sultans lay an off-white colored egg too, LOL. You'll probably have to wait a week or so until you can distinguish the silky feathers I wish you a fantastic hatch!!!

My baby is so darn adorable! Her/his foot feathering is flipping upward, which I don't remember in my older birds?? I would think it will be more practical, not getting hooked on things as easily, but either way, she/he is so CUTE! LOL Not being a part of a large group of chicks, s/he is getting a lot of attention and is so friendly. s/he will sit on our shoulders forever, falling asleep. I know this one will be spoiled rotten, LOL
