While building my coop outside today, I heard a rooster crowing! My son says he hears him all the time, but today was my first time hearing him! Never noticed before! So CUTE! Of course he isn't close to our house, but it was lovely to listen to while I was working on my own coop

It might have been my fellow, he's been crowing since 4:30 in the morning

LOL, gotta find a way to keep the boys quiet until 8 AM if I'm to keep any I've come up with a complicated box to include in the coop (built in) that has baffles for ventilation, but it'll be somewhat expensive

so... I dunno, LOL

Hey, I didn't comment on Einstein and Ivory! They're really beautiful! They're the standard size, no? I love their names too Big Einstein fan, I am ;P Sorry, I was thinking how beautiful they were but didn't write it! LOL

Is Ivory in fact Ivory? or is she a bit messy ? I ask only because the normal color for sultans is white - not because she looks dirty!!!

They're a bit dirty, it's been raining for the past two days and they got a bit muddy

Yeah I love them, they're so docile but he just won't shut up, thankfully no compaints, yet...

Yah, my white leghorns get so filthy, one hen digs herself in , and the others poop on her, LOL Somehow they manage to get clean again rolling in the shavings!

hdowden, I think there are some people trying to make a black sultan, however I'm not sure anyone is selling yet? I've heard they don't look all that great yet either, but who knows, it's been a while since I last heard anything (mostly on this thread )

Ugh, I can't wait to get my chicks! 10 days, well, that's the hatch date I think, maybe shipping date? Just hatchery stock, but hope they'll be cute and grow up pretty if not perfect
