You wouldn't consider these caruncles forming?That's what I was thinking. I guess if I see any Carnucles form I will know. No signs yet. If only they'd tell me if they are male or female! Maybe Magpie cross as guessed above, but they are BIG.

I haven't raised muscovy so I'm not sure how early you can tell them apart.Awesome. Any guesses on sex? Shouldn't I begin to be able to tell at 8 weeks?
No idea really. I have noticed the darker line where the face meets feathers come recently. I will go inspect closer. I'm researching and considering maybe Mulard. Cross between Muscovy and Peking done for meat. Since that's what they were fated for before we adopted the lucky devils.You wouldn't consider these caruncles forming? View attachment 3381839
That's a definite possibility.No idea really. I have noticed the darker line where the face meets feathers come recently. I will go inspect closer. I'm researching and considering maybe Mulard. Hello, we got 2 yellow ducklings from the "dinner" section at a local pet store here in Mexico. One totally yellow (Flea) the other all yellow with black on top of head (Corkey.) Both are now about 8 weeks and Flea is developing a black head but not as pure black as Corkey. Totally white otherwise. They are huge and not one quack or husky quack or anything but the peeping we've heard from the get go. They are total cuddle buddies, but I've noticed them getting a bit aggressive with the chicks around food and Flea just had a wrestling match with my toothless 5 lb dog. (I will be sure to keep them apart from now on.) Any guesses on breed or sex? Corkey is feathered completely...Flea just a tiny fluff left. Flea is prone to lay down in motion, has thicker legs, and is more bonded to us. They are always at our door peeping for attention. It's our first rodeo with ducks and I'm so hoping for girls....but I have a feeling we may be out of luck. They are pets more than anything, but with the amount they eat it would be nice to get some eggs. I'm concerned about if one or both are males as we have 3 hens and I'm hoping they will continue to get along and live together. I understand if one or both are males they will need (or want) multiple females to be content. Problem is, I haven't found anyone who can sex baby birds here. We wanted ducklings so they could imprint on us and be pets...but I had no idea how attached ducks could get. It's like they are only content when we are hanging with them. Here's some photos. Thanks in advance. Sorry for the long post...we love them so much....whatever they are!
I see the beginning of caruncles.I agree they also look like Muscovy.
@Miss Lydia do you agree?
That's my guess too! Their personalities fit with many of the other things I researched online. The only thing that makes me doubt is they are about the same size. Supposedly the males should be noticeable bigger by now. Time will tell. Thanks for your guess and the articlehttps://www.raising-ducks.com/determining-muscovy-gender/
After looking at this article… I personally am thinking that Flea might be a male, and Corkey maybe a female but don’t have any experience with Muscovy ducks so could be wrong. I hope the article can help.
I could be wrong too @Canadian Wind They can really keep ya guessing. After a few more weeks then it should be obvious if you have a drake he'll be much larger than the female.Like I said, I could be wrong! Thanks, @Miss Lydia !I just woke up and only did a quick run=through of the pics (that's my story and I'm sticking to it!)
