This is. punch in her quarantine area.! She is doing well and I hope to let her mix and mingle soon. That's my Buff Orpington Mildred checking her out. She is dust bathing for the first time after living in a concrete pen with 2 huge roosters and 2 larger hens. I would say she's about 6 months old. The seller said 8 months.

3 original hens are still chasing Punch my new Speckled Sussex. She does not fight them and has many places to get away! How long till they all adjust to her. she is so sweet . I hate to see her getting picked on. She was in quarantine for a week. She seems to want to run with the other girls,

Can anyone post some pictures of Speckled Sussex eggs? We have a mixed flock of birds, and I got a very light pinkish egg a few days ago. Not sure who laid it (all are at POL, but not all are currently laying), but suspected my SS. Thank you!

Sounds right. SS lay a cream to light brown egg which can have a pinkish cast.

Nofowlplay - My hens still pick on my pullets and they've been together for about 6 weeks now. As the pullets get bigger there is less pecking and chasing. Mostly I think the pullets want to run from the hen so the hens think they need to chase and peck at them. Some nights on the roost they all get along, other nights they are picking on each other. It seems that is just the way they do things until everyone is full grown.
