Went out in the cold and got some current pics of the adult flock today. This is Roo #2. He never photographs well. He's really big.

Is the run under a tree....or did you import all those leaves for your birds?

They are very pretty BTW.

There's a bunch of trees in the land lord's yard and the neighbor's yard ( my birds are in the neighbor's pasture), but only one willow by my run. I rake leaves and pine needles in the fall and grass clippings in spring and summer for the coop and run. It's a pain, but I do it anyway. My coop is very open, so pine shavings don't work well. Looks like I'll be building a new coop soon that will have one part more enclosed, so I'll use shavings in it more.

I left the fall leaves in the yard for the girls to free range in this winter. In a few weeks I will rake them up and put them in the compost bin!
