I noticed that my 4.5 week SS cockerel is getting a nice dark sheen on his back feathers, but still has a white chest. When does he lose the juvie feathers?

Now that's what I'm talking about!
As wonderful as my SS hens are, the roo; Arthur, is positively a menace! He attacks every time someone enters the pen. This may require some blood-letting.
Anyone with a solution other than eliminating him from the land of the living?

Mine went to the big free range in the sky today. I felt so bad, since he was so good with the hens. But then, I walked in the coop and had a moment of panic when I wasn't sure where he was. Then I remembered I don't have to worry about him anymore. One of my hens got out, running from the other rooster, who they hate, and I picked her up, carried her into the coop and set her down with roo standing beside me. At feeding time, it was so quiet in the coop. None of the usual drama. I don't feel so bad now.
