I bought a flock of Coronation Sussex and a Quad of Light Sussex. They're from Paul Bradshaw - GreenFireFarms. I'm really excited about these guys b/c I got them for a steal! Around $240 for all of them, I'm wishing now I would have gotten the other Light Sussex hens..oh well.
I have some updated pictures, just haven't uploaded them. I have around 12-18 of their eggs in the 'bator cook'in due 6/9. Really excited to see what I get!

Wow just beautiful birds they just look great. I want to thank you for showing a human with the chickens, I gives us somethig to relate its size to. So many times if you looking at pics of LF or bantam I can't really tell the size.

I see at least 4 Speckled roo's in that picture....yikes!
That wouldn't be the end of the world. I have 9 of them....so 5 hens would be great. Like I said, I was sure on the one roo...I have questions on some others.

A really nice looking flock. I also am enjoying my sussix flock. Someday I hope to learn how to put picture on here. But I guess I have been saying that for a while.
I was going to post pics of my coronation so I could get help sexing them. Unfortunately they were victims of a vicious attack, 2 grey games
. anyway, was wondering if someone could look at my poor babies and maybe tell by comb size if I have pullets/cockerals? warning, pics are a little graphic. I was thinking the first was a cockeral and the second a pullet(very low profile, passive, not that the other is aggressive...) they are 8 weeks old(almost) https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=6528543#p6528543

I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your little Bella.
I am convinced that the speckled Sussex is the Ultimate breed in personality, and chicken smarts and so glad that you got more! I've only ever had 2 my Uno and Dottie (Dottie) was taken by a raccoon several weeks ago so I feel your pain. My Uno is so sweet and so smart I had to get more too, I special ordered 5 more little girls and they are all sweet and not a bit afraid of people at six weeks (almost 7) and one sweetpea, would prefer to be with me at all times instead of with the other girls.
I hope that your new little girls turn out as sweet, loving and beautiful as your Bella. Theres just something about these Speckled girls that digs into your heart! Sandy
It's funny- my husband said to me "I can tell who's going to be your favorite already!" The two little girls are so funny, chest bumping etc. But one of them is the most brave. I loved having EEs because I can tell them apart, but these gals are quickly becoming my favorites. I could definiteley see having a flock of just SS. Bella, my seet girl, is still MISSED. She was a charmer for sure. She became heavily speckled after her hard molt this winter- she looked like she was paint splattered!!
