The Svart Hona (Swedish Black Hen) Thread!

Pics
Hatched out some local svart hona eggs. Had to drive a couple hours to pick them up. Out of the 10 eggs, 6 ended up hatching but one didn't make it. Still much better odds than the shipped hatching eggs I got earlier this year where only 1 hatched. They hatched over the weekend and have been busy pecking at each others toes and eyes. I'm surprised everyone still has their eyes intact. Hopefully that behavior is a short phase.

A random pic of roosters. They are all banded but are not my breeders as for most of u know I'm very picky. Let them grow out people so u can see how ur stock is breeding. The birds do change as they age

My babies are two weeks old and learning how to jump onto the edge of their brooder. TIme to get it covered up. Don't want any escapees.

Beautiful roosters. I don't know much about Svart Hona or Ayan Cemani - could you please point out what the main differences between the two breeds are.? Thank you in advance.

The main difference as far as I can tell is in shape, with Ayam Cemani having a more erect gamey look and Svart Hona being more traditional.Svart Hona likely handle cold better being from Scandinavia, as opposed to Indonesia.

I had to process a couple of my roosters recently and thought I would post some pictures of the meat for educational purposes, since I had trouble finding any information on this when I was researching. Here are some skinless thighs/legs:
