“I just hope I can do it right,” she fretted. “I’ll just do what I can and figure it out, right?”
“Yes. I’ll help you as much as I can even though I’ve never had kits, and Riverlight will be happy to help you too I’m sure.” She glanced at the sleeping queen, five tomkits kneading her belly and purring softly.
“Thanks,” she said gratefully. “I appreciate it.”
“Of course. I’ll let you rest now.” She padded from the nursery to a patch of sunlight, giving her sleek pelt a thorough grooming.
“Bye!” She flicked her tail in farewell and lay down, starting to fall asleep.
Eagleflight approached Cloverwing, “Want to go hunting?”
“Sure. We should take someone else with us too, the more paws the better.”
Eagleflight nodded, “Hickoryshade doesn’t seem to be doing anything right now.”
“Yeah, I’ll go see if he wants to come.” She replied.
She padded up to Hickoryshade, “Want to go hunting with me and Eagleflight?”
“Sure.” He stood up and followed them as they left camp.
Eagleflight led the way, “Where do you want to hunt?” His question was addressed to both of them.
“We could go to the border with Twoleg Place, there’s always plenty of mice there.” Cloverwing answered, waiting to hear Hickoryshade’s opinion.
