Jelly Bean has pipped, and one more serama has hatched, along with (at least) one more Tsouloufati. Meaning we're at 50%, and growing

5 Chicks are now in the brooder. Three of those should not have been moved so soon, but they were way too active, and fluffed out for the brooder. One of those three has climbed on top of the brooder plate three times already

Seriously. I'm so proud of these babies. They all look amazing, and they've been so active. I hope I don't jinx anything

Probably the last update for today, we have 17 hatched chicks! All the chicks that are in the brooder I've seen nibble at the very least, one food crumb. No drinking yet

Eating before drinking can bring on pasty butt so dip everybody's beak in the water and get them drinking.

Eating before drinking can bring on pasty butt so dip everybody's beak in the water and get them drinking.

I've dipped their beaks in the water twice, but no takers. They've not properly started eating yet, they're at that phase where they are nibbling at everything and everyone, so they've managed to eat some food pieces. Definitely in eating than drinking, though. Will keep an eye out for pasty butt
