My Coop
I've posted about them before but I just wanna post some updated pics/details :)

THE EGG-LAYING FLOCK

AKA: "THE BIG GIRLS"

MALLOW, the red sex link hen. (Part of "The Mean Girls"- we're not big fans of RSLs after having them.)
she is simultaneously bullied a lot (notice the comb and half-bald head) and a giant bully to berzillia (meaning she chases her down and attacks her for no reason- as well as albedo). she’s WAY too obsessed with food and gets REALLY crazy about it- she’s even drawn blood from me while feeding them by hand. she’s pretty chill when being held though. just heaps overbearing and rowdy otherwise.

TEASEL, the red sex link hen.
(Part of "The Mean Girls"- we're not big fans of RSLs after having them.)
she is pretty flighty when in unfamiliar situations (hence my mom’s hand in the upper pic) and one of the meanest red sex links we have (towards other chickens, not humans). she used to have pinless peepers on but she has a very sensitive nose so we had to cut them off with wire cutters. she is pretty great with humans- she’s just always been really sassy- just a bully to other chickens though. as she grows larger, i tend to mix her up with olive on occasion, embarrassingly enough. she is especially mean to albedo in the new coop.

NETTLE, the red sex link hen.
(Part of "The Mean Girls"- we're not big fans of RSLs after having them.)
she is the easiest to carry and hold (always has been, ever since she was a baby) but she gets very loud and whiny when she is separated from the flock so taking her away for these pictures was a pain. she’s one of the bigger bullies and likes to climb on berzillia and attack her when she’s laying. she’s a good layer- just a huge bully (like all of my red sex links really sigh).

OLIVE, the red sex link hen.
(Part of "The Mean Girls"- we're not big fans of RSLs after having them.)
olive for a bit became very chicken aggressive but is now one of my least aggressive red sex links. she is pretty sweet when it comes to humans, and likes to jump on to my hand on command and roost up on my arm like she did when she was a baby. she has always been my favorite red sex link. i find her to be the most beautiful as well- her coloring is bright and consistent.

BERZILLIA, the barred rock hen. ("The sweet lil pushover")
as you can tell by the comb and bald head/back, she is the bottom of the pecking order and picked on quite a bit. despite that, she is so sweet and docile. i feel really bad for her because she’s the “odd-chicken-out” since we have an odd-number of hens. i hope that albedo and her can become buds.
(since being put in the new coop her back feathers have been growing back very nicely!)

LAUREL, the australorp hen. ("The Peacekeeper")
she’s always had weird squinty eyes- ever since she was a baby. she is second-in command and the peace-keeper of the flock, therefore she hardly ever attacks anyone. she has “roost-hogging” tendencies despite the fact for a long time she would not use it. she’s incredibly docile and can be quite cuddly when she wants to. she is also VERY silky and soft and pretty much the best. she used to be best friends with the meaties before they were processed but she’s also pretty close with lotus.

LOTUS, the easter egger hen. ("Top Hen/Food Hog")
she is our thick and heavy ‘head hen’ who lays green eggs. she fears albedo the rooster for some reason and thankfully doesn’t overly bully anyone anymore (she was awful to berzillia when she was first introduced). she definitely doesn’t take crap though and likes to hog treats and food, even if she is a flighty girl (she is pretty fearful of people despite socialization growing up).

ALBEDO, the white silkie rooster. ("Sh*thead/Brat/Jerk/Baby" - all fondly used.)
his name is pronounced “AL-bee-dough”- but, yeah, this boy is named after albedo from ben 10. he used to be named lily, but once i realized he was a rooster he was renamed. he’s a complete jerk, and can be very human aggressive. i’ve been working on curbing the behavior and it has been going well- and yeah- i walk him. like a dog. he does very good. he’s my baby though, no matter how many times he has drawn blood. he's incorporated into the main flock, though won't eat or drink from their dishes. he's very scared of them but things are getting better.

THE SILKIE FLOCK

AKA: "THE BABIES"

GRACEY, the blue silkie hen. ("The High-strung bossy girl")
she’s named after my friend shannon, who passed away last april’s, character. she’s a hatchery chick so her sex escaped me a long time until she started squatting and eventually started crappin’ out eggs lol. she’s normally bearded and has cheek fluff but she’s??? molting i guess? she’s more high-strung than sunflower because of her lineage probably, but she won’t let my roo, willow, get at her at all and she’s not very calm when you hold her.

WILLOW, the splash silkie rooster. ("The sweet, handsome boy")
this is my baby- i love him SO much!! he is a perfect model- and holds completely still for me whether i am taking pictures of him or petting him. he’s just an overall sweetheart. he sees me as one of “his girls” and dances at me every time he sees me and gets SO excited- but only for me! he’s easy to hold too, and is content with cuddles and kisses! he’s pretty much the best rooster ever and has a complete sexual preference for sunflower (that’s why her back looks funny hahaha).

SUNFLOWER, the partridge silkie hen. ("The sassy lil ditz")
she’s the only chicken i have from a breeder and she cost me a good amount.. worth it! she’s such a cute and sweet little baby- easy to hold and maneuver and she lets you kiss her lil beak! she is the ultimate little sass-master! if it looks like i am attacking willow (grabbing him and whatnot), she runs at me and attacks my hand. for such a lil ditz, she’s quite feisty, and totally lookin’ horrible because she’s willow’s favorite.

We are hoping to get two more silkies from the breeder this year!

Hope you enjoyed my babies 8) If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

They are all good chickens, but I have a soft spot for barred rocks.
Thank you :) I love Barred Rocks based on my girl. Berzillia is such a sweetie.

They are all adorable!! I too love the Barred Rocks and the Black Australorps!
Thank you! :D They are a great breed- I always recommend them to people who ask me what breeds I recommend :)
