Redd rolled his eyes. "Did you not here me when I said I can always use an extra spleen." He looked Gavin up and down. "And you don't seem especially speedy, so running isn't exactly going to help you."
 
Gavin tried to jerk loose from Redd but was held firm "Cant we talk about this? A trial, perhaps? An agreement? You don't even know who I am or what i do. Maybe I'm really nice" He tried to force a smile, but a light in the woods caught his eye. Gavin panicked "I really should be going" He panted "This isn't gonna end well for both of us"

Redd gave him a cold smile. "Sorry, I'm more of am action guy." He saw him eying the window. "Dont even think about it."

Redd looked at his terrified face and laughed. "I was think more of you telling me what the heck you are doing here, and why you were scaring these women." He looked at him for a moment. "If you tell the truth, and I like your answer I'll let you go. If not..."
 
Gavin hesitated. He knew Redd wouldn't like his answer "I've lived in the woods for as long as I can remember, living off of whatever I can get. I saw this cabin and thought it was abandoned. I was just gonna stay the night and go. I..." He didn't wanna say why he had been scaring the girls. But, even more than he didn't want to, he didn't like Redd's other option "I'm a thief. There, I said it. They looked easy to best if it came down to it. I'm just tryna survive, I thought they might have something valuable that would help" He looked up at Redd for some sign that he was satisfied.

Redd lowed his knife. "See that wasn't so hard."
 
Gavin breathed a lengthy sigh of relief and glanced out the window at the light. He hastily turned back to Redd and sunk down to the floor so he couldn't be seen from the window.
