Katrina hummed a tune her mother used to sing to her when she was a young girl. She wondered if Gavin had been successful in his hunt. The steep mountain was slippery, due to all the ferns and foliage. She had decided against taking her pony, as the day was nice an she wanted to walk.

Mariah sent a servant to fetch Edwin. When she was told he was riding, she nearly flew into a rage. "Send a servant after him AT ONCE!" She demanded. The servant meekly obeyed.

Edwin looked behind him. "Drat," he muttered. He slowed his horse. The servant relayed Mariah's message. Edwin reluctantly turned to go home.

Katrina neared the foot of the mountain. Hearing voices, she quickly ducked into the underbrush. Two men, dressed as guards, walked by chatting about something. Upon listening, Katrina realized they were talking about the princess Jenel of Edinburgh who had been missing for a couple days. She gasped, then quickly covered her mouth and ducked lower. After what felt like an eternity, they were finally out of sight. She waited a minute longer, then proceeded on her quick trip

Katrina pulled her hood over her vivid orange hair, and continued along the rode. She had debated about the safety of walking on the rode, should she be spotted and recognized, but the woods proved to be much to thick to walk in. Soon the small town was in sight. Children and dogs scampered about the Main Street, and sellers at their stands yelled out their wares quite loudly. Katrina grinned, happy to be seeing other people again. She first went to the bakery.

Fawn watched Jade and Jephry through her window. She was bored and they were the most exciting thing happening right now, as she loved watching horse races.
