Fawn snuck around a corridor and into a shaded part of the courtyard to wait.

Edmund cantered past Gwen and rode circles around her for fun. He was aware of Fawn, but it was necessary to wait before greeting her.

Gwen rolled her eyes and halted her horse at the stable. Dismounting, she handed the reigns to a stable boy. "Thank you for your services, Sir Edmund."

Edmund chuckled to himself. At least Gwen wouldn't be mad at him for now. My pleasure," he said, bowing respectfully.
He glanced Fawn's way but immediately looked back at Gwen.

Gwen hurried past Edmund. If she was lucky, she could bathe and change before running into Alex. Gwen slowly opened the door. "Maude?"

Maud turned around, stunned, but extremely happy. "Gw–Your Highness!" She exclaimed happily

Edmund nodded at Fawn then headed for the orchards. Fawn took the hint and went around the caste to meet him in the orchard.

Maud slowly put her arms around the princess. If a servant or the queen saw this she'd be in trouble. "Your highness, we've all been so worried about you! Your father sent out some of the Calvary and even your sister and a few knights went out looking! Where have you been?"

Linnet stopped in the stairwell. She slowly backed up and looked out the window. Gwen! Grinning, she ran down the stairs to greet the princess.

Maud looked Gwen in the eye. "Princess, of course I would be worried! Your sister and your mother have been worried sick about you!" Maud wiped a tear from her eye.

Linnet burst into the room. "Gwen!" Forgetting formality, she ran to hug Gwen

"Where is my sister?" Gwen asked. "And have you happen to see Al-Sir Alexander? I'd feel much safer if he were posted outside my door." Gwen jumped when the door flew open. "Linnet!"
