I haven't stolen anything but some food and a horse since then, because you made me realize how much more there was to live for. And Katrina..." He took a shaky breath. He didn't want to continue. He wanted to leave it at that. He was digging a deeper hole that he knew he could never get out of. But he continued before he could lose his nerve "As good of a friend as your sister is to me, and as strong as the forces are that stand between us, I want you to know that when I'm with you, I feel alive in a way I never thought I would. And if..." He trailed off and leaned into his stolen horse.

Katrina's eyes widened as Gavin went on with his little speech. A happiness she didn't know existed flowed through her. Besides the part about stolen food and horse, she hung on to every word he was saying. "Yes?" She urged him to continue.
Daisy (horse) went over to the royal black horse and bit it on the hump

Gwen smiled. "I promise." She knew that she probably couldn't keep it.

Alena sniffed. "Nobody likes to worry."

(hump? Camel horse?)

"I dont know. I wont exactly be welcomed." Peter contemplated.
 
"If there was any way to go back and change everything I would do it" Gavin continued "I'm sorry about everything that just happened. But you had to find out eventually. And I just want you to know that in the process of just a few days you have changed my life for the better. And you mean the world to me"

Katrina mean to exit the water to embrace Gavin, but she accidentally tripped over her wet skirt hem and fell, face down, I to the water. It took a moment, before she came up sputtering.

Gavin let go of his horse and ran down to the water, trying to help Katrina out, but he slipped on a rock and splashed down into the water himself.

Alena mounted her horse and silently made her way back to Edinburgh. "What if you cant?" She asked quietly. Almost to herself.

Peter shrugged. "The treaty hasn't been finalized yet. Edinburgh aren't welcomed, unless it is an engagement party."
 
Katrina sat up in the water, laughing.

Gavin pulled himself to his feet, turning toward his stolen horse, who was running off into the distance.
