((Yawn)
Edwin was too concerned with Alena to go after him. He adjusted Alena in his arms, stood up and set her gently on the bed. Thoughts were racing through his mind. She just couldn't be gone. I wasn't even gone an hour. Why?? It couldn't have been accidental. Someone did this. Someone is going to have to pay.Alfric watches on in horror, frozen to the spot. But still the drums beat on. He glances at the door and then back to Edwin, he moves around nervously and then bursts into a run, pushing past Edwin and sprinting down the hallway.
((I'm back. You guys didn't have to pause it)

(alena)Alfric runs down the corridor, his ears buzzing and his head rushing with blood. He can still hear the chatting downstairs, he can't go that way. He stops and leans against the wall, the anxiety building up in his chest. He's surprised no one has come after him, perhaps they never will. Edwin couldn't possibly have recognised him with the mask on.
(Gwen, Peter, Audric, )Edmund nodded and bowed, a thin smile on his lips. "Your highness. It is an honor to have you here," he said. He was slightly disappointed, though, that it wasn't who he was expecting. She had never replied to his invite, but he had been told through someone else that she was coming.Gwen took a moment to gather herself before going to the doors. "Hello Edmund."
Linnet, right behind the princess, bestowed a quick smile on the host along with a fairly deep curtsy. She tried to keep her eyes on Edmhnd while he spoke, but was sorely tempted to begin searching to see if Peter had yet arrived.
Richard stood stiffly beside Linnet, his arm in hers in order to escort her in as the queen requested. He could sense that Linnet didn't like it any more than he did. Two months ago he would of been as pleased as pie to have her on his arm, but the satisfaction had faded since.
(Most everyone is masked, except Edmund because he is greeting people.)
Fawn took a small bite from a cookie, then set it down on her plate. She was curious as to who was here that she knew personally.
(Fent?)
( Ello. )(Hey, welcome back. Yo silksta.)
