*The Verge of War* A Medieval Rp

Linnet smiled. "Don't worry, I won't tell," she said.

Edmund fingered the small rose that had accompanied the note. He set it in a small vase on his desk

Adrienne shifted in bed, jerking awake to disentangle herself from Calder's tail (he's an onagadori, lol) she sighed and listened hard, trying to determine if Gwen was home yet or not.

Linnet nodded "thank you."
"And yes, I will be fine," she said.
--
Fawn crept down the stairs slowly, trying to hear anything from Gwen's hallway.

Gwen slipped out the door, and down the hall to her room. She saw the gown that Maud had left her. Coming out of the order room, she stopped. Laying on her table was a small silver envelope, and a deep red rose.

Linnet changed into her night gown. She sat on her bed, the covers still folded at the end of the bed.
---
Edmund considered writing a quick reply to ensure who he expected to be there was there, but then he reasoned it would get there at the same time as him, so he might as well wait. He took one last glance at the Rose, then blew the candle out.

Katrina climbed down the ladder quietly, so as to not wake anyone. She tiptoed over to the water bucket for a drink

Gavin stirred and mumbled something about valuables, before flipping over and falling back asleep.

Gwen picked up the small paper. A small smile spread across her face. He wanted to see her. Rereading it, to make sure that what she read was true, she slipped the paper back into the envelope, before tucking it away under her pillow. The rose was put in a small vase on her bedside table, so it would be the first thing she saw when she awoke.

Katrina glanced at Gavin, worried she had woken him. His snoring confirmed otherwise, so she slowly and as quietly as she could, she poured herself a cup or water.

As Linnet stared at the door straight ahead, a small tear slid down her face.
