*The Verge of War* A Medieval Rp

Katrina looked up. She considered a moment, then replied, "Yes. When I think about what I could of been, being a maid makes me happy. I get a fair enough wage, meals, lodging, yes, it's better than what could of happened." She looked Gavin in the eye. "And what do ye plan on doing?"
Gavin thought about that "For now, stay here and make sure the local robbers don't get a hold of you" He said "Then..." He frowned "I guess I'll go back to what I was doing. It'll be hard, after a taste of something else...I guess I could go back to the village and try to become a respectable citizen. I just don't really know how to be a respectable citizen...it's kinda something you learn. Maybe I'll just stay in the woods forever" He shrugged "I've always kinda wanted to figure out who exactly I am...but don't know how to go about that either. So, go back to my cave I guess"

Katrina frowned. She felt terribly sorry for him. "What all do ye remember about your parents?" She asked. "I'd like very much to help you."

Edwin turned around to face Alena. "No, I'm fine. Be careful," he said.

Linnet squeezed Gwen's hand gently. "Surely if you got to know him, he may not be all as bad as he seems," she said sympathetically

Fawn leaned back into the shadows as a servant passed. When it was clear, she resumed her sneaking.

"They were nice" Gavin started "Nice, but sophisticated...and always worried about things. Like they knew something and never wanted to tell me, but had a good reason. They were always talking about war in far away places, and one day they decided to get involved. I'm not sure entirely what they were, but they held authority because people did as they said. When I heard that they'd been killed in battle, I ran. I don't know where I thought I was going, but I ended up here. Years later I started to wonder if I was acctually someone people would wonder about, and if I had stayed things would have been different. But I don't know. It's like someone took away a hunk of my memory and it's just gone, forever preventing things from making sense. I can't even see a steady picture of them anymore...and it hurts. Like j should know something, but don't. And maybe I never will. And maybe I've got it all wrong" He blinked repeatedly "Thankyou very much for wanting to help, but I honestly have no idea what to tell you that would be if any assistance whatsoever"

Katrina put her hand on his shoulder. "Gavin, I'm so sorry," she said quietly. "Have you had any contact with anyone concerning them since?" She asked concernedly.
---
Maud, hands on her hips and a serious look on her face, stared at Richard. "What may I ask are you doing?" She asked threateningly.
Richard spin around. "Is what I'm doing any of your business?"
Maud nodded. "Unless you are waiting for an appointment with the king, I suggest you step away," she declared.
Richard, in no mood to argue with a motherly maid, left.

Adrienne turned and stalked out of the throne room, carrying Calder, and thoroughly disgusted.

Linnet smiled. "We'll just have to see," she said.

Edwin opened the door for Alena.
---
Katrina sighed. She went to the fire and added a log.
---
Richard hurriedly left. Maud glared at him.

Fawn took a peek into the kith hen. Servants were busy preparing the evening meal for the royal family. She chuckled to herself, then continued along.

Gwen nodded, and fell back onto her bed. "I just want all of this to be over."

Alena gave him a tight smile and left.
