Edwin was rather disappointed. Gwen really had been gone, though, and he intended to find out why. And the best person to ask would be Sir Edmund.

Fawn watched the exchange between the two men from a tree in the courtyard that overlooked the jousting area.
 
"Why did she leave?" Peter asked curiously.

Alena couldn't handle herself anymore she stopped her horse and just sat in the grass to cry.

Mariah raised an eyebrow. "Sit," she told Edmund. He sat down, unsure what Mariah's mood was today.

Fawn watched the prince mount his horse and leave. She was eager for Edmund to get back, but knew it would probably be tomorrow.
 
Peter smiled and then frowned. "I did. He spoke with the king. I'm afraid the queen will not let us marry until Gwen and Edwin do."

Gwen saw a rider coming up ahead. She quickly led her horse off the path, and behind some bushes.

Linnet gasped. "The Queen paid Sir Edmund of Alnwick to take her away?"

(With Peter to Alnwick to talk to Richard and get info about Gwens whereabouts)
