(I think it was all royalty, the upper class people like Peter, Linnet, and Jane, and the guards. Is that correct silkie?)
(Yeah, royalty and noblemen and Knights. I guess guards could make it too.)

Edmund wrung his hand nervously. Guests weren't due to arrive for some time still, but everything was already ready. Taking a deep breath, he tried to relax himself.
-------
Maud unwrapped the delicate mask from its box and handed it to Linnet. She then hurried off to see how Gwen was faring.
Linnet looked at it for a moment, then placed it over her eyes and tied the silk string. It was a light red color, almost coral, then it had several white swan feathers attached to one side. The colors correlated with her gown perfectly.

Maud knocked on Gwen's door.
------
Mariah looked out the window of the carriage. She had no intention of being late, and waited impatiently for Audric and Lariah. Edwin was no where to be seen.

Jane sat by herself in the carriage behind the king's. She fiddled with her choker, nervous. There was plenty of room in the carriage and she wondered who else was supposed to ride with her.

Redd looked at the small vial then set it down. He went over to the window to see if the carriages had begun leaving yet. He was growing impatient to get on with the task.

Katrina waited patiently for Lariah,
----------
Richard scowled at his reflection in the window. He didn't want to attend this so-called ball, but it was expected of him and the other knights.

Gwen delicately pushed another pen into her hair. Her jade gown complimented her fiery curls perfectly. A knock came on her door. "Enter." She called cheerily. The ball was the most exciting thing to happen in months, most of her time lately had been spent cooped up with a book.

Alena straightened Edwin's jacket. "When are you leaving?" She asked sadly.

Peter waited waited in the carriage for the remaining guests to enter. A large bouquet hidden inside his jacket.

Maud entered. "Here is your mask," she said, holding out a small box. "It was in your mother's room. She won't be able to go, as you already know, but Linnet is ready whenever you are."

Linnet placed her cloak on her shoulders and clasped the silver pin. She closed her door behind her and went to wait at the foot of the stairs.
------
Edwin shrugged. "Supposed to have left several minutes ago. My parents are waiting outside." He stared into Alena's deep blue eyes for a moment, thinking.

Mariah frowned when she realized which carriage Peter was in. She beckoned a servant to come over, instructing him on something. He listened then went over to where Peter was. "Sir, I believe this carriage is for the prince and princess. If you will step into the one behind you, the queen would be most grateful," he explained.
Jane glanced out the window, wondering where the rest of their party way.
-----

Gwen smiled brightly. "Thank you Maud. I'm so excited!"

Alena tipped her head to the side in thought. "What is it?"

Peter sighed. "If the queen wishes." He stood, focusing carefully to make sure the. Bouquet remained hidden.
