"Will, you go up first, okay?" Edmund told the boy. He wanted to keep Alfric in his sight a little longer before losing him to the crowd. Will nodded, then scrambled up the ladder. At the top he waited for Alfric.(Of course you arehrmm)
Alfric walked back over to the ladder and leant against it. "Lets get out of here."
Edmund helped Fawn up the first few rungs until he could no longer reach her, then Will did the same as he had done with Alfric to get her up the remainder of the ladder. "Thank you," Fawn smiled at the boy, then turned to Alfric. "And thank you. I thought you may if deserted me, but I'm very grateful you didn't," she said graciously.Alfric struggled to his feet, using Will to steady himself. He peered down the hatch at Edmund and Fawn, their faces partially hidden in darkness.
Alfric smiled a small, closed-lipped smile at Fawn, and then turned to Edmund. His castle? He turned back to fawn, waiting for her to answer.
