Whoa Yeah, count me in on this.

I have chick fever. Have a hard time falling asleep at night, thinking of what I still need to do or buy before I get the babies. Thinking about what problems and fun I'll have. Wanting to hold that little ball of fluff in my hands. Wanting to hear peeps greet me in the morning when I get up and go check on them.

I'll get a little "fix" tomorrow. I need to go to town and plan to stop in and get a few last minute goodies I need for the babies arrival.

I don't think I'll last until next friday.

Do they have a Re-Hab Center for this?

Peace -
Meriah

My chicks shipped today. I thought they would be here tommorow, but I called Cackle this afternoon and they said they shouldn't be here until Wednesday

I've been working on my brooder all afternoon. It has a draft shield that is about ten feet around. There seems to be more cool areas than heated. I think I need to add one more light.

I hope they end up coming tommorow..I've been waiting sooooo long!

I got my phone call from the PO at 7 am today!!!

My sister and I picked them up and then she ran them to my place, where my DH and her happily put them in the brooder!!

When I got home we decide the barn was too cold, so I shall be lulled to sleep by quiet peeps

any way I am off the list and very happy....

Okay, sign me up! Waitiing anxiously for 25 araucanas from MMH. I've already called the post office to make sure I knew where to pick them up when they come in the week of 03/31. No worries about low temps here in the desert, have the brooder box ready with 20 lbs of pine shavings, a big bag of medicated chick starter, the electrolye stuff coming with the chicks, a 100 watt bulb with the reflector thingy, and a nice coop and run ready for them when they can go outside. I'm still headachey and nervous!

Yay for those who got their babies!!

My update is kinda poopy: lots of my shipped eggs were ruined by the post. I still have a few that might be developing, but I won't know for a few more days. Who knows if anything will come out of this hatch.

The good news is babies from Ideal on the 26th. So I'm getting closer.

I stopped at the feed store today, to pick up a feeder and waterer for my babies when they get there. The lady had the special orders waiting for people to pick up, and she opened them for me to see, and hold one or two of them. They also had baby ducks which were adorable, but I didn't really want to take them home, LOL.

She told me they will have the Black Australorps that I want (woohoo!!) and a bunch of others, so I'll probably get 5 of those, and a mix of some others - I like a colorful coop, LOL.

Now it's worse than ever having to wait since I heard the peeping and held those fluffy babies.

Two more days...

Peace -
Meriah
