The "We received our chicks the week of 2/17, give or take" Club

I love all the pics!! Mine are getting soooo big. Updated pics tomorrow of them in their big boys and girls coop and run.

This run will be expanded in the next couple of weeks.

A pic of the inside. You can see a peek of the roosts. Hubby will be putting in bigger chick roosts in the next couple of weeks.

The waterer and the door to the run.

I had ordered 2 White Wyandottes........only one made it. I really like it!

It has a fair amount of "Sass" without being naughty. I have never had Wyandottes though. And the difference between the comb size and color on this little angel is very SIGNIFICANT!!! So now I am wondering if they sent me a roo......... Anyone care to throw their opinion in the ring???

Plus its bigger than even the White Plymouth Rocks

My girls call it "Mulberry" because of its comb

And its standing between some of our huge "Nuggets" CornishX

One of my Dark Cornish. These are surprisingly calm birds. I really like them!

White Laced Red Cornish. These birds were the very smallest of all the chicks that came from MMH. I had thought that it was a couple of the Buff Rocks, but realized my error when their plumage started coming out. They are still on the small side but very healthy now. We have 2. The one that had the worst of the pasty butt is the sweetest little darling. Loves to come close to us and snuggle against our hand or get a tummy rub

Both of them have what seems to be a kind of greyish white color on the top of their head........I'm not sure if that's a correct coloring at this age.

These 2 White Plymouth Rocks I got at my local feed store and they buy from Privette Hatchery. I had gotten 4 but we helped out a friend with trading them 6 started pullets. So these 2 are left. They have been quite the pain in the back side as they like to pick at any pin feathers they see on other chicks. Then when it starts to bleed they continue to pick at it. I have never had a picking problem in the past and it clearly is these specific birds. Once removed the problem immediately stopped. Not that the chicks are mostly feathered, mostly recovered from having parts of their wing or back plucked these 2 white rocks can be with the younger birds. The funny thing is.....my Cornish X started disciplining these as soon as I put them back in with the others. The Cornish X had always been so mild mannered and never bothered any of the other chicks. So I definitely attribute it to a naughty attitude that even the CX pick up on. They don't have a problem with me though, which is good. They see me and think FOOD! I really love how fluffy and bright white they are. They are going to be really pretty when they are full grown.
I

One of the Columbian Wyandottes. You can see where some new pin feathers are coming in where they were previously plucked. These chicks are SHY!! It kind of makes me sad. They are shaping up to be really pretty as well. Really small comb on these Wyandottes in comparison to the White Wyandotte that's probably a roo.

We have two Dark Cornish. First time with these and they are pretty curious, which I like. We have 4 Columbian Wyandottes (first time with this breed also) and you are not kidding. They are very shy. I've started picking them up and holding them instead of waiting for them to come to me. Not sure if that will help, but I'm giving it a shot.
