The Weekly Peep 8/12/13
Breaking News Front Page Story
ChickenLover200 found out that her supposedly Brown Leghorns are now Black Links.
How I noticed this ChickenLover200 says, is someone told me that Leghrons always have White earlobes.
When i looked at these 6 I noticed they had red earlobes, and when they started to lay, they laid brown eggs.
When Leghorn usually lay white eggs.
I was curious so i was looking and found a picture of a Black link rooster and hen and there was my answer.
How i found the picture is on BYC Backyard Chickens so Thank you to BYC!

Chicken Spotlight
Here we have Thud the hen named this because when
she was a chick she would jump out of your hand back into the brooder.
So hints the name Thud. She was also thought to be a rooster until she laid an egg.
Yep i am pretty sure roosters don't lay eggs.

Breaking News Front Page Story
Who knew roosters could be nice?
read this story!
On Promised Land Farm
at Easter time CL200 and her brothers and mom decided to stop by
Tractor Supply to check out the new Easter chicks. unknowing CL200 came home to see a small box on the table from dad in the kitchen. that said chick days opening it up to see not 4 but 6 chicks that were supposed to be Brown Leghorns... But now we know because of the last story these chicks that looked like little chipmunks are Black Links. Tractor Supply was wrong..... time passed by and we had a vet come look at our other chickens to make sure they were ok because 2 had died a few days before and the vet confirmed that 3 out of 6 Black LInks thought to be at the time Brown Leghorns. were actually roosters..... Who Knew roosters could be nice? the only time they get mena with them is when we disturb them on the roost because we have to..... other than that they are afraid of us and don't even get near us.....
