What do you all think of my wellie, Pepper, eggs? What do all of your eggs look like?

My wellie eggs mostly DID look like those, some lighter, some darker, some more spotted.

She will be a year old end of May. Just started laying this winter, was hopeing for more production when it got warmer, we were subzero this winter and she was laying good, got warmer and she hasn't laid an egg for over a month! I was only going to hatch the wellie eggs, I had three pullets, one was ate by a predator, another injured herself and had to be put down. The others are laying good but they are brownleghorns and EEgrs. I got a wellie roo so I could hatch more wellies! :-(

Hi everyone!
I had chickens a few years ago (Plymoth Rocks, Australorps, and Wynadottes) but am now considering purchasing Welsummers. I was thinking of getting one rooster and five hens. I was wondering what their temperament/personality is. Also, I know every rooster is different despite the breed, but are the roosters usually aggressive? Or are they friendly? Thanks!

What do you think? Pullet on the left and rooster on the right?

I am so excited for my wellsummer chicks! I especially am excited for getting eggs from them eventually that will be pretty. I bought these at a Feedstore and they were labeled all as pullets. I talked them into agreeing with me that that one was definitely a rooster. I tried to get them give it to me freebut they didn't want to do that so they sold it to me as a straight run chick for less money. So what do you think? Was I right in declaring it's a rooster? I was excited if it is because I have a Easter eggers that I can get some olive eggers from hopefully.

Looks to be correct on gender, but if using EE's don't hold your breath on getting OE's...... Visit the OE thread if you need that explained.

I'm so proud! We have four roosters, 2 Welsummers and 2 Buff Opringtons. I always thought it would be one of the Buffs to crow first since they are acting most dominate so I was surprised this morning to let them out and see one of the Welsummers attempting his first crow. They are growing into such beautiful young birds that I forgive them for not being the girls we thought they were when we got them as 2 day olds!

Here they are along with the Buffs enjoying their piece of bread with the Wellie hens and Buffs before I close them up for the night.
