I seen the parents and they didn't have any. Right now its just a little between the toes and not on all of them.

1_FnkyFrm,

Funny how that happens. I saw the parents of my Wellies too. Out of the six, I have one rooster who is probably 1/2 BCM or Langshan, a hen that has black legs (thinking Langshan as well) and hen that is somewhat patterned like a Wellie but much more red in color. I'm not very happy with those birds, partly because they simply aren't the correct type and because those three somewhat more aggressive than all my other chickens. The rooster in question has feather stubbed legs and white skin, that's why I think BCM. The other two hens and rooster really aren't that impressive either. They're okay, but not great. It's disappointing for sure.

Feathers on foot and legs are problematic in Welsummer breeders and we go thru great pains not getting them from hatcheries or questionable breeders. You do have to do alot of research before you can find the right person who would be able to help you. Therefore, when we do find them, usually in the earlier Welsummers, Calicowoods for one, it is a hit or miss. If you do have a chick that has feather footed, must cull it out from the breeding flock but useful in egg laying or meat only.

I just got some from ebay...they are beautiful...she is in Arizona.. though, which was good for me..I live in Utah. I am so excited to have these birds..especially now, after having read up on this thread. It sounds like they are great birds! I can't wait! But will.

I've had them four days, candled last night, am seeing veins and tiny little embryos already. She packs them with foil to avoid the x-ray machines, in case they go through some? They were packed great! None broken, and oh boy, she throws extras in.

One of my LF Welsummer girl is broody and so is the other bantam.

With one bantam Orp girl and one Amercuana bantam hen, I can not wait to see any hatching chicks for FOUR broodies going on!

I honestly didnt think any of my Wellies get broody but boy was I wrong!

My LF girl, she went after me like a dobermann hot after my heels! The bantam was fluffing herself twice the size and angerily pecked my hand off.

Okay Nate the girls are ready for some chicks!
