Here are a couple of photos of the 2 Erhard hens that I kept.
Can't get a better photo of this little gal...she is pretty shy unless you have the treat can.

#8 5 mos old. She's a little trouble maker, always into something and going where she's not really suppose to go exploring.

They look very nice to me. In # 8 & 9 I love the tails. I sure hope mine look like that when they are older. Thanks for the pictures. I ordered a new camera so that I can join the club.

Thanks flower! About half of those pic's were taken with my cell phone today because the batteries died in my digital. I hope you get your camera soon too. Can't wait to see your Wellies.

G-ma~

Well now I don't know.....that's what I always go by. lol! Have a I been giving my chickens more space than they need??

This is how I do it, I give them 12"+ linear and if there is more than one roost in the coop I make sure they (the roosts) are set apart a minimum of 14" and I give them atleast 20"+ of head room since I put all of my roosts as high as I can in the coop for warmth. Don't know how the math works out. Sorry no confusion meant.

Took a good look at the babies today, looks like I got four cockerals by the way their combs are, pinker and bigger. And the rest of them are pale.

The hard part is selecting the males when they are fully grown out a bit!

Here is one of the Welsummer girls we hatched out at the end of April 2010 from eggs that HappyMtn sent us. She was a bit unsure of what was happening.

lol...I understand now; 12" on the roost per bird. As I only have 3 girls, I'm thinking one roost about the width of the coop (which is 3/5 ft.) should suffice...right?
