good job! Can't wait to see pictures.

Okay, here's the pictures. I have 2 roosters in my run right now, Moose my wellie roo and Ford an olive egger roo. (he is blue) I *think* 2 of the chicks are pure welsummer, the other I think is a olive egger/wellie cross.

The whole hatch, the chipmunk chick in the upper right is NOT a wellie (well, she may be part wellie). It hatched from my EE's egg. The other 3 chipmunk ones hatched from wellie eggs.

The chicks hatched from the wellie eggs. (not the one in back)

This chick definitely has the eyeliner going.

In this picture I'm thinking the 2 on the outside are pure wellie, and the one in the middle may be a cross. I'm not sure though, and I guess I won't know for sure until they feather out.

Congrats to you and Ms Broody!

I think the one in the center of the last pic many be a pure Wellie roo, not a cross...based on what mine looked like.

I've noticed the boys have a more golden, even, down color; while the girls down is more fawn colored, with some gray peppering.
Also, the chest down on the boys is lighter. Here's a pic of my two week olds, boys in the middle, girls on the outside...

Another where you can really see the color difference around the eyes. (Boys on the left, girls on the right).
Of course if the color/head V/eyeliner hadn't tipped me off, look at the little combs popping out already

I did consider that it may be a boy. Time will tell I guess.

Does anyone know what the feathering should be on a Blue Roo over partridge wellie hens? I've had difficulty with the calculator.

I had to laugh when I saw "I've had difficulty with the calculator". Yes, I'm sure that this odd ball cross isn't in their database. I have one and she looks like Wellie in Black & White, ie. shades of silver in a Partridge pattern.

Cool, thanks! I'll definitely be able to tell when they feather in.
